The Bottom Line
When you take into consideration versatility, price paid for value, and image quality, you can't miss with either of these cameras. The Panasonic Lumix ZS3 is going to have a few "extras" because it just came into the market, but you will pay an additional $100 over the price of the Canon Powershot SX110 IS. The biggest extra in the ZS3 would be the ability to take 720p HD video vs 640 x 480 (non-HD) in the SX110. Image quality (which is the number one consideration in my opinion) is highly rated in both cameras.
So, your decision about which of these two fantastic cameras you purchase is a matter of your requirements for video recording. If video is not a major function for you, why not get the Powershot SX110 and save the $$$.
